Discover your creativity through the use of clay. Experience
working on the wheel, concentrating on the basic components
of bowl, cylinder and plate. Learn to handbuild forms, using
pinching, coiling and slab construction. Classes will also
cover underglazing, texturing and working with slips. Emphasis
on process not product. Beginning and experienced students
welcomed. Beginning students will master the fundamental techniques
of forming and glazing, while advanced students improve their
skills, experiment with glazes and work on developing a personal
style. Class is limited to five students with a lot of individual
attention in a relaxed atmosphere.
The studio has two electric wheels, one kickwheel, an extruder,
a slab roller, an electric kiln and plenty of shelf space
We use a white and a brown clay and have a selection of glazes
that are fired to cone 6.
